Three of the recent Rotary Scholarship recipients—William Sheldon, Charlotte Howard and Caroline Spana— were honored at the Rotary Club of the Pelhams luncheon at Rockwells Restaurant on July 14.

 

At the same meeting, Pelham Memorial School Principal Mark Berkowitz was inducted as a new member of the Rotary club.

 

William Sheldon was the 2018 recipient of the Rotary scholarship, which is awarded annually to a PMHS senior. He is attending Vanderbilt University, where he is majoring in physics and is a member of a jazz combo.

 

Charlotte Howard, the 2020 scholarship recipient, recently completed her first year at Boston University where she is majoring in journalism and psychology.

 

Caroline Spana was awarded the 2021 scholarship in June and will be attending Villanova University where she will major in business and information systems.

 

Rotary's 2019 scholarship was awarded to Charlotte Edmunds, who could not attend the July 14 meeting. She will be honored at another Rotary meeting.

 

The Rotary Club scholarship was $10,000 until this year when it was increased to $12,000. It is paid in annual installments to the winners.The funds are raised by donations made by Rotarians and members of the community. Donations may be made at pelhamrotary.com.
